Thunder Over Utah 2012!

Today we went to Thunder Over Utah. It was the new St. George Airport's inaugural air show. It ROCKED!!! Our family went with my dad and my uncle, and, despite crazy strong winds at the end, it was fantastic! From the very first demo (an F-22 Raptor) to the Blue Angels, we were in HEAVEN!!!! There's nothing like the roar of the jets flying right over you, and pairing that with the gorgeous red rock backdrop... WOW!!!

Here are some highlights:

The F-22 Raptor

MV-22 Osprey (and Jess inside...I took her and Jer through it. It's an amazing plane/helicopter that can carry its crew of 4 and something like 24 troops! Jess got to buckle in!)

Jer was amazed by how big this engine was!

We got to see an amazing aerobatic pilot, Jeff Boerboon (Jer LOVED his program), and a wingwalker named Carol Pilon (who performed on a Stearman!), but the main performers were the Blue Angels. They were incredible--loud, fast, precise, and breathtaking!

Jen at Golden Corral afterwards...

Jessie at Grandpa's after THAT! It's been a full and awesome day!

Jer's Newest Learning Experience

Mike bought a couple of IBM ThinkPads this month for parts (sweet total of $20). He really only needed one, though. Jer happily found a use for the extra laptop! He totally dissected it--and learned a lot in the process, of course!

We the People '12

Jonathan got to participate in the We the People history competition today in Salt Lake City. His G/T history class has been studying about our government and constitution, and they earned the right to be one of only 6 school teams to participate in the state competition. They did an awesome job, had a great time, and WON FIRST PLACE!!! Congrats, Jonny!

Pass of All Passes, BA-BEEEEEE!

Mike and I gave a Pass of All Passes to each of the kids this year for Christmas. We went and used them for the first time tonight at the north county Trafalga. Here are some highlights (minus the laser tag--no pics, sorry!):

Jonathan's OFFICIALLY Taller Than Me!

He would love to point out that, if you look very closely, the little bubble is
slightly over on his side! Go 14!!!
